Li Keqiang meets WIPO Director-General Francis Gurry Chinese Premier Li Keqiang has met with World Intellectual Property Organization Director-General Francis Gurry in Beijing. Li Keqiang said that protecting intellectual property means protecting innovation. He added that making proper use of intellectual property laws can motivate innovation. Premier Li also pointed out that the Chinese government has offered equal treatment and protection for innovations from both Chinese and foreign companies. He said the Chinese government has taken measures to increase its protection of intellectual property on both the administrative and judicial levels, and it has voiced its strong opposition to invasions of privacy. The Chinese Premier also said China is doing its best to create a fair and transparent market environment. And he said China would like to strengthen its cooperation with WIPO to make international IP rules more comprehensive, and help benefit more people. Meanwhile, WIPO's Director-General thanked China for supporting his organization. He acknowledged that China has attached great importance to innovation and made significant gains in IP protection.
